1926 Lithograph Of Map Of Cape Cod By Coulton Waugh

Offered for sale is a hand-colored lithograph of Cape Cod by listed artist Frederick Coulton Waugh (1896-1973). Based in Provincetown, Massachusetts at 72 Commercial Street, he lived in what was known as the “Oldest House” in Provincetown. His father was the famous maritime painter Frederick Judd Waugh. This is one of Coulton Waugh most decorated maps and is lavishly illustrated with amusing vignettes including historical annotations regarding the Mayflower and Gosnold. It features Waugh’s interpretations of discoveries and early settlements on Cape Cod.

The map is approx. 15.5” by 19”. Its condition is very good and believed to be in original frame. This map is increasingly scarce.
