More information below.
A hand carved, 19th C Dancing man or Jig Doll. The doll’s legs are attached to the body with rawhide which is original. The lower legs are attached at the knees, also with rawhide, which is old but not original. The hole in the doll’s body was for a stick which allowed the doll to dance when held on a wooden surface. The stick is missing. The detail to the doll’s face is quite good.
The dancing doll measures 14” in Length and 3” from arm to arm across the shoulders. The doll appears to never have had hands.
