Ca 1920 Perkins Perko Brass Marine Lantern & Burner

Offered for sale is a large solid brass Ca. Perkins “Perko” maritime lantern made by the Perkins Mgf. Corp with original burner. The label on the lower front of the piece states “M’ F’ R’ D By Perkins Marine Lamp Corp., Brooklyn New York”.  Perkins Corp. was originally called Perko Corp. and the name is used interchangeably. The Corp. made maritime hardware and was located in Brooklyn, New York beginning Ca. 1907. The lamp is 17 1/2” high by 7” deep and includes the intact interior reflector and single wick burner.

The thick glass lens has a small imperfection just to the left of the center of the lens. There is a note accompanying the piece from the owner of Cape & Island Glass Co. stating that it is an imperfection that occurred in the making of the lens, does not detract from the usefulness or beauty of the piece. The lantern can be hung by its handle or wall mounted by the top & bottom brackets on the back. The lantern has been professionally cleaned and its condition is excellent.
