Offered for sale is a set of Art Deco cast iron bookends made by Judd Manufacturing Co. of Wallingford, CT in excellent condition.
Each bookend measures 5-1/2″ high x 6″ wide x 2-1/4″ deep. The bookends are painted with the Judd verde antique color with highlighted bronze finished lions. The finish on both is in excellent condition.
In the early 1910s, Judd began to produce a decorative art metal line of fine-quality sand castings in iron, brass and bronze. Among these items were bookends and book racks which were produced between 1910 and the late 1930s.
