A beautiful, large, 19th Century, bail handled pantry box in old blue paint. The paint appears to be a very old blue over original blue. It is constructed of ash sides and pine top and bottom. It has wooden pegs, copper tacks and a wire bail handle. The very top edge of the bottom is missing in two places. The lid has two secured cracks on the side: one is 6 ½” and the other is 10” and there is no movement in either crack. There is a name stamped on top of the lid but it is not discernible under the paint. It measures just under 11 6/8” in diameter and is 6 5/8” tall.
