Offered for sale is a wonderful late oil painting on board by Charles Woodbury. This rendering of Naushon Island in the Elizabeth Island chain off Falmouth was given to Edwin W. Forbes in 1903.

 

The Forbes family has owned Naushon Island for now centuries. Edwin Forbes who was born on the island went on to be Director of the Fogg Museum at Harvard.

 

Framed in an Arts and Crafts frame. with the writings across the back tracing its provenance. This makes for a delightful rendering and presentation.

 

This framed work measures 10″ x 8.25″ , frame measures out at  17″ x 15″

 

Overall condition is good.

 

The item will be shipped via USPS and insured for $4000.
