Hand-colored steel-plate etching of a “Blue-green Hummingbird” or Trochilus Cyaneus, Plate 7. Etching by William Lizars from drawing by William Jardine for his work The Naturalist’s Library, Ornithology, Vol. I, published in Edinburgh, 1833. Excellent condition. Plate size 6 3/8 x 4 inches. The Naturalist’s Library, a forty volume series of illustrations on natural history, was an extremely popular 19th-century British work because of its small format and numerous fine etchings.
I accept checks, credit cards or PayPal. MA residents pay sales tax on Friday, but the weekend is tax-free. Print will be shipped insured by USPS Priority Mail or by FedEx.
